Waniska Gathering 2024

This year's Waniska Gathering was held over three days from Monday, September 16 to Wednesday, September 18 at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. Ka Ni Kanichihk hosted the event in partnership with the Waniska Centre for HIV/HCV/STBBI Research. This three-day, Indigenous-led gathering was a unique opportunity to raise awareness and foster collaboration in addressing the growing HIV and STBBI rates in our province and communities. Keesaywatisiwin: Grace & Kindness

This year, we recognized Indigenous AIDS Awareness Week (IAWW) from December 1 (World AIDS Day) to December 7. On December 6, Ka Ni Kanichihk hosted an event at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights for Indigenous HIV/AIDS Awareness Week. The event, Keesaywatisiwin: Grace and Kindness, honoured community members and their efforts in raising awareness of the prevention and treatment of HIV and AIDS in our Indigenous community.
