Permanent, Full-time (8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, weekends & evenings as needed)
Salary/Wage: $36 an hour

About the Role:

The Relatives Coordinator is essential in fostering culturally grounded, consent-based, and healing-centered care within the Mino Pimatisiwin Sexual Wellness Lodge (MPSWL). As the Relatives Coordinator, alongside the team of Aunties (Community Hosts) and Cousins (Peers), you will ensure our community members who come to the MPSWL will experience culturally safe, inclusive services and care. You are able to provide guidance and mentorship to ensure a welcoming, and mindful environment while also providing and maintaining the conditions needed for integrated, high-quality care.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the MPSWL, including budget administration, employee management, and inventory maintenance
  • Supporting the hiring, onboarding, performance management, scheduling, and training of the MPSWL Aunties (Community Hosts) and Cousins (Peers)
  • Building on the Aunties and Cousins’ knowledge of sexual wellness, sex positivity, consent, harm reduction, and substance use from an Indigenous lens
  • Fostering partnerships within organizations and external stakeholders
  • Establishing and adhering to crisis management procedures and expectations
  • Guiding the team to increase street outreach capacity to directly connect with under-served community members
  • Leading and facilitating Aunties and Cousins meetings
  • Administering Cousin honorarium distribution and payment
  • Writing reports and tracking statistics as required
  • Ensuring confidentiality and PHIA standards are met
  • Participating in pipe ceremonies, sharing circles, and other ceremonies held onsite

What You Bring:

  • Relevant post-secondary education, or combination of education and relevant experience;
  • Knowledge base of traditional Indigenous culture, spirituality and traditions is required
  • Demonstrated ability working in sex positive, harm reduction, trauma informed, non-discriminatory and decolonized environments
  • Knowledge of local community resources
  • Knowledge in community development and advocacy
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, digital communication software and ability to learn new record keeping programs
  • A valid driver’s license; access to a vehicle considered an asset
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
