Urban Green Team



Full Time Position (35-40 hours/week)

Ka Ni Kanichihk is seeking two (2) innovative, motivated and engaged summer students to act as positive role model for Indigenous youth, in cultural, academic, environmental, and leadership activities.

What You Will Be Doing

As an Urban Green Team Summer Student, you may:

  • Support a variety of community, cultural, youth, and family programs
  • Assist with community events, workshops, celebrations, and special activities
  • Help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming indoor and outdoor spaces  
  • Support cultural activities, land-based learning opportunities, and community gatherings
  • Assist staff with youth engagement activities and recreational programming
  • Welcome and support community members attending programs and events
  • Help organize supplies, materials, and program spaces
  • Participate in team meetings, and training activities
  • Complete administrative or general support tasks as assigned
  • Represent the organization with professionalism, respect, and positivity

What You Bring

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Are currently attending school and returning in the fall
  • Are between the ages of 16 – 29 years
  • Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Demonstrate respect, kindness, and professionalism
  • Are dependable, responsible, and punctual
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Are comfortable working in a variety of settings, including indoor and outdoor environments
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Are willing to support different programs and projects as organizational needs arise
