Program Overview

TurnAbout Mental Health supports children and families by addressing both immediate and longer-term mental health concerns. Working closely with each child and family based on their unique needs, the program provides intervention strategies, individualized therapy, and family therapy grounded in care and respect.

Program Eligibility

TurnAbout serves children under the age of 12 who are referred by the Winnipeg Police Service and may be at risk of becoming involved with the law. Referrals are screened and coordinated through the TurnAbout Coordinator, who works in partnership with Manitoba Justice and the Crime Prevention Branch before a family is connected with our Mental Health Worker.

Services Provided

The TurnAbout Mental Health Worker and TurnAbout Coordinator work collaboratively to ensure children and families receive the right level of support and care. This includes:

  • Support and advocacy
  • Referrals to community agencies and schools
  • Individualized, family, and parent therapy
  • Liaison with community partners throughout the process
